Jared Carter (1986 series)
Jared Carter reads from Work, for the Night is Coming, poems of people and places in the towns, farms, and flatlands of Indiana: “I had a realization that the landscape had claimed me, and I had to live up to it and flesh out the vision that had been bestowed upon me by the terrain.”

Jared Carter (1994 series)
Reading from After the Rain, Carter delivers poems that move back in time to give us glimpses of past lives within that same territory: “There are invisible fields of force that settle in this otherwise empty landscape that still make it worth caring about. It appears to be empty, but it isn’t. There are perhaps ghosts there.”
